Gary joined Cooper Carry in 2011 and is a Director of Planning and Landscape Architecture, leading the firm’s design and documentation of landscape architecture and planning projects. Gary was named an Associate Principal in 2015. He has more than 20 years of experience in the planning and design of a variety of project types throughout the Southeast. His expertise and design passion have been in the realms of parks, gardens, and public spaces; and he has successfully designed thousands of acres of park lands and urban public areas. Gary is recognized as an expert in the design of inclusive play areas for children of various disabilities and is often invited to speak at conferences on related planning and design issues. His works have earned several awards, including two 2010 Planning Awards from the Heart of Central Florida Planning Chapter of the Florida Planning Association for the Lake Myrtle Redevelopment in Auburndale, FL, and for the master plan and design of Common Ground, an inclusive play place, in Lakeland, FL.

Gary graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in horticulture and a master’s degree in landscape architecture. Gary is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is certified with the Council of Landscape Architecture Registration Boards (CLARB). He is a registered landscape architect.
