Matthew Carr rejoined Cooper Carry in 2011 and was named an Associate in 2012 and a Senior Associate in 2015. He brings more than 15 years of experience and has worked as project architect on several projects for the firm’s Hospitality Studio. He has been a key contributor in several hospitality projects including the Marriott Marquis Convention Center Hotel in Washington, DC. Before hospitality, Matthew was a key element in the Mixed-Use Studio during the construction of 60 North Market Street in Asheville, North Carolina, and Metropolitan Midtown in Charlotte, North Carolina. Matthew also has experience in aviation transportation, retail, and office market segments. His previous experience in Convention Centers blends well with the needs of the Hospitality Studio. With the completion of the Marriott Marquis in June of 2014, Matthew had more than 1.5 billion dollars of construction under his belt. Matthew graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Architecture. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB). Matthew is registered to practice architecture in 3 states, and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
