Ben Wauford

Principal, Director of the New York Office

Ben Wauford, AIA, LEED AP joined Cooper Carry in 1985 and was named an associate in 1988. In 1992, he was named Senior Associate; He became an Associate Director in 1994, and in 2000 was named Principal. In 1998, Wauford opened the Cooper Carry New York office where he is responsible for establishing the design goals and direction and ensuring design quality. Many of Ben's projects have received national attention and awards including Underground Atlanta, which received an AIA Citation for Excellence in Design and an Outstanding Planning Project award from the Georgia Planning Association. He also led the design efforts for the Master Plan for the Erie Canal Aqueduct and the Broad Street Corridor in Rochester, NY which received a Citation for Design Excellence from the New York State AIA. Ben also guides Cooper Carry's Transit Studio.  

Ben is currently a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology, attended the LEcole des Beaux Arts in Paris, France and won the William Van Alen International Design Competition while in graduate school. Ben's writing and work have been published in Accent on Atlanta, Home Magazine and Better Homes and Gardens. He is NCARB certified and registered in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Idaho, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
