This project has the important goal of establishing an economically and environmentally sustainable corporate campus on a 65-acre “brownfield” site in upstate South Carolina. The campus design promotes the corporate philosophy of interaction and engagement while also increasing viable employee recruitment. A variety of spaces encourage collaboration amongst departments, while becoming an asset for the community by creating open park spaces accessible to the public.
The project is being designed with the hope of attaining LEED Gold certification for campus, landscape and buildings. To achieve this goal, locally sourced materials, and diverse plant palette representative of the region will be used. Other LEED features include devices for capturing rainwater for re-use, and limited use of high-maintenance lawns. The project is currently under design with construction expected to be completed summer of 2008.
