This project consists of the design and construction of a multi-story, 165,000 square foot operational training center for a next generation command and control multi-mission P-8A aircraft. The P-8A Integrated Simulation/Training Center will contain the most advanced state-of-the-art computational facility to support 40 instruction environments and 19 multi-million dollar simulation trainers. The facility will also house the U.S. Navy’s P-8A’s program mission command within a classified Secure Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). The project incorporates AT/AF measures and best practices for sustainable design including on site storm-water retention for sanitation and irrigation, 30% reduction in energy consumption through under floor air/system distribution (UFAD), renewable energy through photovoltaics and will reach LEED-NC Gold certification. The design-build team includes Whiting-Turner, Cooper Carry, and H.F. Lenz.
