Oxford College of Emory University, Fleming Hall

Oxford, GA

Oxford College sought to relocate student residence halls toward the east side of the campus consistent with the campus master plan. The three-story ā€œLā€ shape residence hall with 106 traditional style rooms in one, two, and three-bedroom configurations offers a total of 206 total beds, plus a ground-floor staff apartment. It also provides residential units with shared restroom facilities on each wing.

Spaces are arranged and sequenced throughout the building to encourage students to get out of their rooms and interact to enrich their college experience and promote wellness. To promote student interaction, Fleming Hall includes several spaces at a variety of scales. Each floor has two study lounges, and two laundry rooms, one in each wing.

The first floor features a large lobby, living room, and lounge space. A tech lounge and gym facility on the second floor overlooks the two-level lobby and gathering space. The third floor has a large outdoor roof terrace with views of the Historic Quad, including direct access to an adjacent kitchen for social functions.
