Collaboration was the theme consistently referred to when designing the headquarters space. The client’s previous facilities consisted of multiple buildings and a 98% closed-office floor plan dating from the origin of the company in the 50’s. Almost all employees occupied an office, regardless of rank or position. Because Printpack provides the creation of new packaging for various products, the designers worked with the client to conceptualize strategic product development and packaging. To achieve the goal of product development and innovation, an open, communicative plan was chosen to encourage cross-departmentalization of expertise and ideas.
