Abbey Oklak joined us in 2011 was named Associate in 2017, Senior Associate in 2019 and Associate Principal in 2021. She is a project manager and designer in our Retail, Mixed-use, and Planning studios. Abbey has more than 14 years’ experience in architecture, urban design and planning, and works on projects ranging from schematic building designs to public sector plans. Her unique background allows her to focus on community building, public realm design, and mixed-use developments that emphasize walkable neighborhoods and place-making from concept to reality. Abbey has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Art in Sustainable Urbanism and Architecture from the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community / the University of Wales, and she is currently completing an MBA from Georgetown University. Abbey is a registered architect in Virginia, is AICP licensed, and is a LEED AP®. She also serves her local community as a board member and secretary of the DC chapter of the Congress for New Urbanism, her neighborhood civic association, and her city’s architecture and urban design review commission.
