Bob has more than 30 years of experience as an architect. He joined Cooper Carry in 2000 and was named a Principal in 2015. For the past 22 years, he has been devoted to educational design, with K-12 as his primary focus. His experience also doing Higher Education and Science + Technology projects makes him a uniquely qualified K-12 thought leader.

Bob is responsible for guiding the K-12 Education Studio and assuring quality design and construction. He is a dynamic and thorough project architect and has successfully completed multiple complex projects with challenging schedules, budgets, and phasing requirements. His interests have led him to opportunities with sustainable design, adaptive re-use, school safety, collaborative 21st-century learning, and all things STEM.  Bob holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology. He is a registered architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB), and the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE). Bob is also one of the earliest Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professionals (LEED AP). He has written numerous articles on K-12 design and spoken at numerous conferences on topics including sustainability, 21st-century learning, adaptive re-use, and “classrooms to boardrooms.”
