Elizabeth McCabe Hughes CID, NCDIQ

Elizabeth McCabe Hughes is an Associate Principal and Director of Interior Design at The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, where she leads with a distinctive vision rooted in storytelling and collaboration. With deep expertise in both hospitality and residential interior design, her portfolio encompasses hotels, resorts, restaurants, casinos, maritime ventures, and mixed-use developments. Her work spans the United States and internationally, with projects in the Caribbean, UAE, Saudi Arabia, China, and South Korea.

 Central to Elizabeth’s creative approach is the belief that every design begins with a story. She employs narrative as a conceptual framework, guiding aesthetic and functional decisions to craft immersive and memorable environments. Equally committed to collaboration, she fosters strong partnerships among clients, designers, and artisans to achieve shared design goals with clarity and cohesion.

 Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Texas Tech University. She is a Certified Interior Designer (CID) in the State of New York and a member of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Passionate about mentorship and industry development, she regularly participates in student portfolio reviews and internship development programs.
