Associate

Sam is a member of Cooper Carry’s Urban Design + Planning and Mixed-Use Studios. He joined the firm in 2019 and was promoted to an Associate in 2023. His experience in both typologies gives him a unique perspective when approaching projects, allowing him to understand and communicate larger contexts and the complexity of the building design. Prior to Cooper Carry, he worked in New York City as a project manager for a general contractor, performing high-end residential renovations in complex urban environments.

Sam graduated from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation with his Master of Architecture. His studies focused on large-scale sustainable practices, including a soil reuse study of the East River and a city-wide carbon sequestration project. Sam is currently the chair of CORE, Cooper Carry’s internal sustainability committee. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and he is both a LEED® Green Associate™ and Fitwel Ambassador.
