Bull Street First Base Building

Columbia, SC

Cooper Carry has designed this 147,000 GSF mixed-use project which includes retail and restaurants on the first level and offices on the facility’s upper three levels. The development also includes a 80 car parking in the basement and a roof top terrace and lobby that overlook the new Columbia baseball park. The name of the First Base Building reflects the fact that the building is “down the first base line." The project is part of the The Bull Street Master Plan which was also designed by Cooper Carry. The master plan covers 178 acres in the heart of South Carolina’s Capital City, Columbia that was once home of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. The plan provides a re-imagined vision for the site that promotes walkability and integrated uses. Cooper Carry designed structured parking concealed by uses at the street level and created a mixed use plan that enhances and celebrates the pedestrian experience.
