As part of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's (CHOA) Arthur M. Blank Hospital campus, Cooper Carry designed two naturally ventilated precast parking decks to support efficient, secure arrivals for employees, patients, physicians, and visitors. The North Deck primarily serves hospital staff and emergency operations, while the South Deck is dedicated to patients, families, and physicians.
Brick façades and subtle massing strategies help the decks blend into the overall campus character and reduce perceived scale. Alternating spandrel treatments visually compress the structures, allowing the parking decks to integrate seamlessly with adjacent hospital buildings along North Druid Hills Road.
User experience and safety guided every design decision. Both decks incorporate Park Assist technology, including card and license plate readers, to streamline parking and enhance security. Thoughtfully planned pedestrian circulation, covered connections to the hospital, passive security strategies, and dedicated CHOA wagon drop-off areas further support a welcoming, family-centered experience.
