Princess Cruises tapped into The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry’s cruise ship interior design expertise to elevate the retail and dining experience as they rolled out their new Sphere class of ships. Our new retail designs created themed environments for shoppers to discover and connect to jewelry, art, and fashion. Our new food and beverage designs offer four options to entertain and nourish travelers.
Sabatini’s is an Italian restaurant with a fresh approach to a classic Princess staple. We helped to reinvent its existing brand while staying true to its roots. This upscale yet approachable venue draws inspiration from northern Italy, encapsulating the Modish Milano design concept.
The focal point of Sabatini’s is a chandelier featuring a collection of floating spheres that emit a warm glow reminiscent of Italian hand-blown glass. We anchored the chandelier to both the ceiling and the banquettes to accommodate the ship’s structural requirements and prevent elements from swaying. This creative design gives the illusion that some spheres are suspended from the top and bottom, enhancing the dining experience.
The World Fresh Marketplace and Eat Street venues serve as the ship’s main dining space. The Marketplace spans the indoor spaces in a food hall style with a mix of plated and self-serve options, while Eat Street offers al fresco dining. The Pizzeria & International Café provides quick service and approachable dining in multiple locations throughout the ship. Each café has its own distinct identity, giving travelers various culinary experiences.
