Mercer University, Coleman Avenue

Macon, GA

Representing the past, present and future, the fountain plaza magnifies the intricacies, union and beauty of Mercer University and the City of Macon. The Wedge commemorates the path and development of life; beginning with a narrow view, a broader line of vision is gained over time; the power of learning. The Mound celebrates the highest point of Macon held by the Mercer Law School; education, intellect and justice are the common ground. The Stone Wall with a metal rail represents the earth, the river’s edge and the railroad. The Bands recall Macon’s agricultural roots; Cherry Blossom Trees stand in a grid representing the city’s layout. The Fountain Plaza is a place of art and a gift to the citizenry of Macon.
