Mira at Midtown Union

Atlanta, GA

Mira at Midtown Union is part of the mixed-use community of office, residential, and hotel, located in the heart of the Atlanta Arts District. Mira is an 18-story, 355-unit multifamily residential tower that offers high-end finishes within several floorplans, including studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes, ranging in size from 496 to 1,743 square feet. Artistic murals and graphics in the garage connect the building to the neighborhood.

Mira offers plentiful amenities, like an outdoor amenity deck with a pool, seating, and grilling stations as well as a pool-side bar and lounge. There is also a pet lawn and spa, fitness center, and co-working spaces. For the interior design, we opted to focus on the art of music, creating a “Visual Symphony” that parallels the principles of design and music, a concept unique to the area. We took inspiration from the inner workings of instruments, such as in the double-height, wood-slatted wall, reminiscent of the inside of a piano; ceiling features that mimic guitar strings; and light fixtures in the form of symbols.

The project embraces the urban context and encourages users to venture outside. The building is set back from the sidewalk with an extended overhang to facilitate a pedestrian-friendly scale and experience. A tree-lined, pet-friendly green space with native plants is provided on the exterior drive, in between the office tower in the mixed-use community. Bike lanes also connect users to the existing lanes on Spring and West Peachtree.
