Eldred, NY
The Eldred Preserve is a 3,000-acre property located in the town of Highland in Sullivan County, New York. The preserve was originally founded in the late 1960s and served as the area’s premier fishing and outdoor sporting resort. It has been completely reimagined as an upscale resort and entertainment hub for visitors to the Catskills and residents of the local community.
The resort was designed to be “a jewel in the woods,” allowing the forested environment to serve as a backdrop to a sleek, contemporary design scheme that mixes glass, wood, and stone. The preserve offers a total of 23 guest rooms, five private cabins, and more than 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. The Eldred Preserve features two legacy brands, The Bradstan Boutique Hotel and The Homestead Restaurant + Lounge. The Preserve Wedding + Events provides a new place for guests to hold their special events, with a large pavilion offering views of the ponds, stream, and tree-covered hillside beyond.
In the restaurant and event spaces, 26-foot-tall windows and operable glass walls offer an unencumbered view of the outside, while open-air terraces provide guests with the perfect space to dine and entertain al fresco. The site plan and discrete wayfinding encourages guests to explore the natural grounds, whether soaking up views or dining under a tree canopy. The indoor and outdoor spaces were designed to be contiguous, with the interiors harmoniously blending with the exterior design throughout the property.
