The Lovett School Campus Improvements

Atlanta, GA

Informed by a campus-wide master plan and phased rollout developed by Cooper Carry, The Lovett School began implementing the first phase of improvements in 2024. The enhancements center on arrival, access, circulation, and outdoor engagement to elevate the everyday campus experience while supporting the school’s whole-child mission.

Key Phase One Improvements:

  • Parking Deck: Nestled into the existing tree canopy near the campus’s front gate, the new structure increases capacity and eases congestion. By relocating parking to the campus edge, vehicular traffic is reduced at the core, promoting a more walkable environment.
  • Loop Road & Arrival Sequence: A new one-way loop road improves traffic flow and pedestrian safety by redirecting vehicles to the perimeter, freeing the heart of campus for student movement and outdoor activity.
  • The Dell Playground: A beloved Lower School space is reimagined as an immersive play environment blending structured and nature-based elements. The enhanced central lawn supports joyful exploration, social connection, and experiential learning.

Together, these improvements lay the groundwork for the future Riverbank Center and reflect Lovett’s commitment to whole-child education, campus unity, and embracing the natural beauty of its riverbank setting.
