Long loved by locals and tourists alike, the iconic Village on Venetian Bay was in need of an update in response to the many new shopping venues appearing in Naples. An anomaly in the retail world, this center is not on the main highway but on the edge of a residential community. Designed as one of the original Mediterranean style developments in the region, it had outdated colors, sight line impediments, and lacked shopper amenities commensurate with the shoppers’ desires. New tile paving was integrated into the pedestrian paths reminiscent of the cobblestone walks found throughout Venice. Glass guardrails were installed at lines of sight, connecting the center to the water. Soft but effective lighting was added throughout. A new interactive fountain was also added that has become a wildly successful attraction for children.
