Fulton County Assembly Hall Renovation

Atlanta, GA

Cooper Carry’s Atlanta office renovated the Fulton County Assembly Hall. The overall design strategy was to create a more useful and comfortable space for the Board of Commissioner's meetings as well as a variety of other large meetings and training sessions. The renovated spaces were the Assembly Hall, Commissioner's Chamber, Commissioner’s dais, pre-function area, support spaces, and Level G corridor. Updates included architectural finishes, carpeting, fixed seating for 300, loose furnishings, and restoration of the millwork and railings.

Almost half of the budget was focused on expanding the digital technology in the space as well as upgrading the electrical and communications systems to allow for filming, recording, and video teleconferencing. This included a complete overhaul of the digital displays, sound systems, and infrastructure to go from a fixed projector screen to a fully integrated digital display system, which the County Clerk runs for the Commission meetings. The Agenda Management Software suite, via a separate source selection/RFP, is an integrated software suite to manage the commissioners’ agenda, voting, and recording of meeting minutes. Cooper Carry replaced the LED lighting and dimming controls and coordinated new artwork display lighting and hanging systems. ADA upgrades were also made to provide accessible seating, an accessible lectern, assistive listening, and signage.
